-Stress, hormonal imbalances, obesity, poor diet, lack of sleep, and other underlying medical conditions may lead to brain disorders
What you can do to prevent Alzheimer’s Disease, Dementia, and other brains/cognitive disease:

-Learn! Read, play card games, do puzzles, build something, take a course on a subject you are interested in. It is never to late to learn something new!
-Avoid tobacco, quit smoking
-Take care of your overall health; obesity, high blood pressure, and diabetes will all negatively impact your cognitive and mental health
-Get good quality sleep, eliminate distractions and avoid screens close to bedtime
-Try Alpha-Stim if you are suffering with depression, anxiety, insomnia, chronic pain, and/or mood swings
-Engage in positive social activity! Try yoga, join a book club, start a walking group, volunteer, go to church, plan Zoom nights with friends and family!
Our October-December Lab Special is an in-depth look at your overall health and brain health! Vitamin D + Magnesium RBC ($86.50, regular $173), add on Homocysteine ($27)
Vitamin D- must be in balance and is foundational to overall health and to disease prevention! It is important to monitor Vitamin D levels throughout the year, especially as we head into fall and winter in Mississippi and have less exposure to sunlight. Every cell in our bodies has a Vitamin D receptor so it is important to optimize Vitamin D levels to achieve optimal health! Vitamin D is crucial to immune health, mental health, bone and joint health, and protecting against cancer and diseases.
Foods: salmon, tuna, oranges, mushrooms, kiwis, mackerel, eggs
Magnesium RBC- healthy levels help to prevent cancer and Alzheimer’s disease. Magnesium plays an important role in supporting immune health and works with Vitamin D to support overall wellness and prevent disease.
Foods: spinach, pumpkin seeds, avocados, almonds, edamame, bananas
Add on:
Homocysteine- imbalanced levels of homocysteine cause inflammation on the body which can lead to cancer, brain diseases, Alzheimer’s disease, blood clots, and heart disease. High levels of homocysteine are shown to increase risk factors for cognitive decline such as dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. Lowering levels through a well-balanced diet aid in the prevention of cancer and disease.
Nurse Practitioner, Kelly Engelmann, is Recode Certified for Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia for the Bredesen Protocol through The Institute for Functional Medicine.
An estimated 5.8 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s disease. The disease impacts people of all ages and the Alzheimer’s Association anticipates a 14% increase in the number of Americans with Alzheimer’s disease by year 2025.
Early detection and prevention are possible! Knowing your Vitamin D, Magnesium, and Homocysteine levels, incorporating our Supplements of the Month, and the Cyrex Alzheimer’s Linx/DUTCH Precision CAR/CNS VS testing empower you to counteract and prevent neurological dysfunction!
